MY NEEDS

Air to breath, water to drink,
Food to eat, a mind to think,
A roof over head, someplace I can lay,
A talk with My Father every day.

Good friends all of whom add joy to my life,
Siblings, children and a loving wife,
To give back the tenth that belongs to Him,
With love and joy, not gloom nor grim.

A steady job to help me provide
For those I love, to feel good inside,
To have peace as I walk in the valley today,
To share His love with others, to always pray.

That which I need and desire the most
Is The Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
To turn away from worldly sin,
To get ready for He's coming again.

Make ready, prepare, so you will know
On the day of judgment where you will go,
We can't live alone, that point I concede,
But if you have Jesus what more do you need?

GOD'S LOVE

Just why does God love us?
I really cannot say,
But I know according to His word
He is with us every day.

No matter what things we may do
He is ready to forgive,
His desire is for each of us
To follow His word as we live.

Some may feel it is weakness
To turn the other cheek,
I tell you it requires a lot,
Not for the meager or the meek.

When He said to treat our brother
As we wish to be treated by Him,
What a foundation for life that set
For us as well as for them.

God's plan is still working,
He knows what He wants to do,
His word shall not return to Him void
Whether its object is me or you.

BLESSED

One night when I got into bed
I could neither sleep nor rest,
This was caused by a large and growing pain
In the middle of my chest.

I climbed out of bed and sat in a chair
But the pain would not leave me alone,
So I got up and headed to my car
And drove to the hospital on my own.

They checked me out from head to toe
And even front to back,
They made sure, without a doubt,
I didn't have a heart attack.

There was something the doctors found,
A spot on my left lung,
Since cancer was not even thought about
Their praises are still sung.

I look back over the many years
Of the pain and the fear of that night,
I was really, really blessed back then,
For GOD let me win that fight.
